Shore opens season with big win over Manasquan

SSZ has highlights of the Blue Devils 5-4 win over Manasquan in a game that featured two Division I pitchers on the hill

Shore Regional 5 Manasquan 4

James Kelly went the distance striking out 10 and hit a solo home run to spark a 5 run 4th inning to give the Blue Devils a 5-4 win at home over the Warriors.  Kelly, a commit to Monmouth, worked out of jams in the 6th and 7th innings, ending the game with a strikeout.  Manasquan starter Tommy Sheehan, who’s committed to Notre Dame, was stellar in the first three innings with five strikeouts.  But the Blue Devils put together a huge 4th frame with Kelly’s solo blast to right field, followed by a Chas Breithoff RBI single and then a three run triple off the bat of Sam Parrino.   Manasquan battled back with 3 runs in the 5th highlighted by two runs coming in off a Max Hawkins base hit.  Watch the highlights and post-game reaction here:
