RBC, CBA claim state soccer championships

Shore Sports Zone has highlights and post-match reaction as Red Bank Catholic earns a 3-3 tie with Oak Knoll to earn a co-state championship in Non-Public “A” Girls.  CBA’s Matt Thorsheim’s left foot blast was the only goal in a 1-0 Colts win against Seton Hall Prep in the Non-Public “A” Boys final

The Caseys battled back from a goal down on three different occasions to earn a co-championship.  Juliana Rafaniello’s shot off a corner kick tied the game with 13 minutes remaining.  After 80 minutes of regulation and 20 minutes of overtime, the NJSIAA does not decide state championships on penalty kicks resulting in both teams sharing the state title.  Sophie Demurjian and Marisa Rafaneillo had the other goals for RBC, who finished the year with a 15-10-1 record.  The Caseys made an amazing run as #6 seed to win the title.  Watch the highlights and interviews from an exciting game here:
