Mater Dei Seraphs 2014 Preview

Christian Palmer is set to begin his fourth year as the starting quarterback at Mater Dei Prep

Rich’s Take

I’ve seen the skills of leadership on the football field translate to everyday life so often, which makes it only fitting that Steve Sciarappa is not only leading the Seraphs football program, but the entire Mater Dei campus.  It takes vision to build a program the right way and Sciarappa is doing by building numbers through a middle school and freshman program.  More important than that, the environment at the practice I attended was what you want football to be all about.  There was plenty of teaching and hard work going on, but everyone on that field was happy to be there and enjoying what can be a tough process to get ready for the season.   You can tell just by being around Christian Palmer for a little bit that he has great poise and four year starters at the high school level tend to bring a lot of intangibles with them.  Sophomore Eddie Lewis looks like he’ll be making plenty of highlights this fall.
