Toms River North 2 Toms River South 0 (8 innings)

Pat Marinaccio laced a base hit up the middle with two outs in the 8th inning to bring home two runs and give the Mariners an Ocean County title.  Sophomore pitcher Brendan Mullins threw seven shutout innings to pick up the win and tournament MVP honors.  Anthony Sasso came on in relief and picked up the save with a perfect 8th inning capped off with a strikeout to end it.  Toms River South pitcher Trevor Wagner, who no-hit the Mariners earlier in the season, was once again outstanding on the hill pitching seven shutout innings before surrendering the game winning hit.  Watch the highlights and interviews from a great game played by both squads:

Both teams are still alive in the Shore Conference Tournament and the state playoffs.  Toms River North hosts Freehold Boro and Toms River South is home against Brick Township in the SCT.  The Mariners and Indians then go on to open state tournament play on Monday with TRN home against Eastern and TRS with a home game against Pinelands.
