Lions hold off Braves rally to win third straight

Seth Ziegler’s RBI double was part of a four run 4th inning as Middletown North held off a bases loaded rally by Manalapan to score a 4-2 win in “A” North play.  SSZ has the highlights from Monday afternoon baseball

Middletown North struck for four runs in the 4th inning and Garrett French got the final out with the bases loaded to give the Lions their third straight win.  Kyle Capo laid down a bunt that saw an errant throw plate two, followed by a Seth Ziegler smash to the wall in left and a Walt Schopf base hit to bring home a total of four runs.  Manalapan got an RBI double from Jake Sadowitz in the 5th and Lions starter Mike Mercier walked home a run with two outs in the 7th.  French came on and got Chris Rodriguez to line out to left to secure the save.  Watch the action from Monday here:
